About Tim

Seven years ago, my family and I moved to Gig Harbor. We wanted to live in a co mmunity where we could bring together work and vacation. Gig Harbor gave us that – a place to have my office as well as the feeling of being on vacation every day! We feel very, very fortunate.

My wonderful Norwegian wife, Stephanie, and I have two amazing boys – Joey is 9 and Will is 6! We live in the view basin in the historic area of downtown Gig Harbor. By day, I am the Executive Vice President of EMA, Inc. – a management and tech consulting firm that works with municipal governments and water treatment utilities. By night, I enjoy gardening (I can get dirty and muddy on purpose!), as well as kayaking and spending fun times with my family.

Soon after we moved to Gig Harbor, I got involved in attending City Council meetings. There was a rezoning proposal near my home, as well as the downtown core building size debate. For the two years prior to my election to the City Council in 2005, I attended nearly every City Council meeting.

Since I do have a family with small children - and am the only one on the Council with small children – I want to keep the Council aware of issues that pertain to young families.

And, I want to keep this community vibrant with a mix of family and business. Finding ways to keep our community economically healthy is important for the vitality of Gig Harbor.

It has been a pleasure to serve this community over the past four years. I would be honored to continue serving Gig Harbor as your City Council member.

On November 3, 2009, I would truly appreciate your vote for Gig Harbor City Council Position 1.

Thank you!

The Payne Family
